  Max Amount of Bookmarks
Posted by: MichaelReese - 03-24-2022, 08:24 AM - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

I have about 100 books in Freda and I've placed many bookmarks/annotations in them, is there an upper limit that I may hit at some point? Appreciated

  Bookmarks In Books Lost
Posted by: MattyBoySwag - 03-03-2022, 09:21 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

I had a few hundred bookmarks in some of my books and I checked them recently and they are gone, is there a way to retrieve them? I heard this happened to so other people recently as well, well just one person, so perhaps it was an update. Thank you

  Start over?
Posted by: GodExpects - 02-15-2022, 06:59 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

This NEWB has made a mess - I tried to use Calibre as my book organizer and also Freda - but I like Freda the best - I have used my OneDrive for storage and like it the best. But I want to use FREDA to control everything.
What I need to do is clear everything from Freda and start over - is there an easy way to do that?

Where are they stored and newb help
Posted by: GodExpects - 02-10-2022, 05:25 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (2)

I am new to Freda - it is a lifesaver - it is the best EReader for using on a PC (Surface 3 tablet) -

I use e-books from a variety of sources - Google Play Books - Kindle (using Epubor to export).

Where are books stored on my pc (and can I put them on my SD Card)?

So, as I save e-books from a variety of sources where should I store them for Freda - and avoid having multiple copies of the same book on my PC - many not being used?

Hope this is clear as to my confusion maybe someone out there can help me clear my mind up.  But thanks to the Freda people for developing this awesome app!

  Bookshelf Not Enough Columns
Posted by: MattyBoySwag - 02-06-2022, 09:49 AM - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

Hello, at the opening screen of Freda, my Freda's bookshelf displays 3 columns of books. I would like it to display more than just these 3, so I can see more of the current books I have, on the same screen. Are there any ways to do so? Thank you again!

  Line break after paragraph
Posted by: Floris - 01-30-2022, 07:48 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (8)

Hi there, I've been using Freda for a while now and I'm ever so happy with it's usefulness and customizabilty.

However, I can't seem to figure something out:   it seems that freda removes the blank line after a paragraph, even though I set the ''remove blank lines'' option to ''no''.   I tried some other options like ''force indent'', but in the book series I'm reading (which uses a lot of paragraphs) I see virtually no difference between the paragraph indent and some of the book's own indentations.

On https://www.turnipsoft.co.uk/freda/windows10/index.htm I see that there is supposed to be a layout option called:

''Line break after para If set, a line break will be added after every after paragraph.''

but unfortunately, it no longer appears to be options list.

Is there another way to once again enable this option or different way to create the same effect (like making the indentations really big); I truly hope so, because this way I can be a few lines into a next paragraph before I realise the book has switched character / perspective.

Hope you can help Smile

  TTS, pause-previous-next buttons
Posted by: stulljack - 11-11-2021, 04:02 PM - Forum: Suggestions - Replies (1)

I use freda TTS a lot! Please, please, please add previous paragraph, pause and next paragraph to the TTS bar.

I have medical issues that make visual reading exhausting. Going back a paragraph to re-read or pausing to lookup something and then re-initializing TTS is very frustrating for the impaired. And freda seams rather pensive about 'right clicks' for some reason.

Just 3 little buttons, thats all I ask. < = > how hard can it be?

Thanks  Smile

Freda doesn't load book stored on OneDrive
Posted by: oavaldezi - 11-08-2021, 10:48 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

I've granted Freda access to OneDrive.

When I open a book stored in OneDrive, I get a blank screen, with "-/-" at the bottom

Freda search functionality for network-connected libraries
Posted by: hrbngr - 09-26-2021, 06:19 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am using a network-connected library called "COPS" which is an alternative to the typical calibre service. I am able to get the Freda reader to connect to the library and log in, and I can browse and download/read books. However, the search functionality does not seem to work at all. When I use the search function, it doesn't seem to pass anything along to the server when performing the search. I believe that the search function uses Opensearch, but I can't seem to find much about if that is supported.

COPS is available on github here: https://github.com/seblucas/cops

Other readers have worked fine for me with the search function, so I hope that you can assist in this.

Let me know if you need more information and I'll provide what i can.
