Calibre OPDS advanced options
#1
Hi there,

I run my Calibre server over the web through a reverse proxy, and I can't get Freda to leave my URL unmangled (adding the colon, http, and opds to the string).  Other apps for Android and such have no problems with my server, such as MoonReader or Aldiko, and it should work fine with Freda if I could just get a "Specify exact URL" field.  Even if there were a config file I could be pointed at in order to manually enter the information to be read at startup, that would be fine.

For example, my server is at:

https://examplesite.us/books/ and serves its catalog from https://examplesite.us/books/opds

Thanks for your consideration!

To get the 'specify exact URL' effect, you just need to get Freda to treat your Calibre book source as a generic OPDS catalog source.  Freda has special treatment for Calibre book sources (which is to say, sources that have 'Calibre' in the name).

So the fix is just to create an OPDS source (+ button below the sources list) that does not have 'Calibre' in its name - or to rename your Calibre source.

I will do some work on the UI at some point to make this better behaved (for instance, to let you specify the exact URL details, even for sources having 'Calibre' in the name).

I hope that helps.

Thanks, Jim.  I was able to set up the source in the manner you suggested, and it works.
