OPDS Catalogue - neilriach - 12-17-2020

I am having trouble getting Freda to connect to Ubooquity OPDS server.  I have configured the URL but when I click on one of the folders in the left hand pane I receive an error advising 'Failed to download.  Check you have internet connection, and try again ...'  This OPDS source is on my local LAN and other EPUB readers can connect fine.

I would be grateful if some could advise if there is anything further I could try as Freda, otherwise, seems to be exactly what I am looking for and if I can get it to communicate with Ubooquity I will purchase it.

Many thanks
Neil

Hi Neil, and thank you for reporting the issue.  There is, I see, a bug in Freda's code for handling the 'content' element of OPDS feeds, which happens to cause a problem with the feed format that Ubooquity generates.  My apologies for that.

I've put a fix in the next release of Freda, and I'm aiming to get that published in the next week or so.  Accordingly, please look out for an update on the Store (to bring Freda up to version 4.38) - and if that update does not do the trick, please contact me.

Hi Jim,

thank you very much for the fast response.  I am glad that it is not me that has done something incorrectly!  i will look out for the update and I guess as Freda is a Windows store app it will update itself.  I can manually load the ebooks for now so it is not the end of the world.  I will advise progress once the update is released.

Best regards
Neil

Hi again Jim,

just a quick post to advise that version 4.38 landed on my PC the other day and I can now browse my Ubooquity OPDS server perfect.  It also works on my Android mobile phone as well.

Happy New year to you from Scotland.

Regards
Neil
