I tried an alternative File Explorer (2 different ones) and the epub files open from them - just not Windows Explorer. And Freda does not see from source the new files I want to bring in...
Thinking maybe to try and remove Freda and reinstall it (Window 11 upgraded after I installed Freda - and it was working fine for a while then quit).
Question: If I uninstall Freda and reinstall it will I lose books or will the save/merge function let me restore everything?
The backup save & load functions will allow you to preserve your setup, so you should be able to make a backup, uninstall & reinstall Freda, then restore the backup. But it will be quite a fuss, and there is always the possibility of it going wrong in some way. The fact that the books don't show up in the file picker window displayed by Freda does make me wonder whether there's something weird about the files - perhaps their names (do you have Explorer set to show you file extensions?) or their security/access permissions.
Could you try copying the files onto your OneDrive, and seeing whether the Freda OneDrive source can access them?
Well - re installed Freda+ and all works now - some how files types were corrupted with MS File Explorer recognizing epub files - did not seem to be Fredas issue - and I think this happened when Windows 11 was installed... so thanks for your input - I store everything on Onedrive ... thanks again for your help.
One more thing - I uninstalled Freda and restarted my computer - reinstalled Freda+ (purchased it for FREDA's sake - not sure what the difference is) and loaded books from my Onedrive and all is like it was before I uninstalled. Thanks again
