Freda: the free ebook reader

Data Handling and Deletion (Licence Management)

As a matter of course Turnipsoft does not access, collect, store or share any information about your use of the Freda app (see our legal disclaimer and privacy policy for further explanation).

Freda does however allow you to purchase a licence to use certain features of the app ('premium features') and if you have bought such a licence and you decide to get Freda to share this licence between several machines, the app must then send your personal data (your email address [*] and a device identifier) to Turnipsoft to allow the sharing of the licence. Turnipsoft will store this data and use it to manage the sharing of licences. Freda will only do this once you have explicitly given your consent (a popup is displayed asking for consent, before any data is sent). If you subsequently decide that you do not want Turnipsoft to hold this data any more, the simple way to delete it is to choose the 'licence' item from the main menu in the app, then tap the 'sharing' button, and tap 'purge'. If you can't do this, then you can alternatively email a request to us and the data will be deleted.

[*] To be more precise, Freda does not actually use your email address, rather it uses a hash of your email address. This means that. even if someone managed to get access to the information held by Turnipsoft, it would be very hard (perhaps impossible) for them to figure out your email address from that information.
