Annoying small pic
#1
Hello

Thank you for letting me join.  I have used Freda for many years and have really likes it until yesterday when Freda was open in the background and suddenly a small pic popped up near the top left of the foreground which I could not remove.  It interfered with everything on screen.  I tried to include an image for your info bur unfortunately do not know how.

I closed Freda in the hope this image would disappear but it did not so I rebooted my PC and the dratted thing came back without me even opening Freda!  I then shut down the PC and left it off for a few mins.  Switched back on and again the image came back.  I then ran cleaning progs and again shut PC and restarted it but again it came back which brought me here in the hope somebody can help.

Whilst typing this the image has disappeared but I have had this problem in the past but not so bad.

Please help if you can.

Many thanks

tinlizzy

Hi,

That looks like the Windows on-screen volume slider control, that is stuck on your screen for some reason.  I found this article on-line that offers some hints for how to make it go away:
https://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-volu...he-screen/

I'd suggest first trying unplugging your keyboard, and then running the audio troubleshooter - the other ideas may be worth a go too, but some of them look rather drastic.

Many thanks Jim.  The pesky thing disappeared of its own accord soon after I contacted you.  Today was the first time it came back after a restart (twice). As it only ever occurs when using Freda I assumed they were related.  Usually restarting the system problem goes away.
When it occurs again I will again look at your suggestions if the problem persists.  I have not (yet) had the Pc freeze on me and hope that does not happen.  I just find it annoying.  Again many thanks for your help

Hi Again Jim.
As I posted on Microsoft after a reset of my Pc and reinstalling Freda I was back to the free version As the cost is very small and I like Freda so much I today bought it again  but but no sooner I did, the pesky slider came back but after your help the last time I ran the audio troubleshooter and sure enough that was indeed the problem.  As this only happens with Freda I am debating buying a new keyboard but I will leave it for now as I have tried to seek help from Microsoft (not that I expect much help from them all I got was a virtual assistant which was a complete waste of time.  Anyway back to my query do I have to enter a licence key to get Freda to be registered as the full version?

If I understand you right, you've already pressed the 'click to remove advertising' button on Freda, but now, following a re-install of Freda, you are seeing advertising again. If that's correct, then the problem is that the Microsoft Store hasn't realised that you already paid for the 'remove advertising' feature.

Please take a look at the suggestions at http://www.turnipsoft.com/forums/showthr...?tid=10691

If none of those work, please email me for support (jim@turnipsoft.co.uk)
