When you tap on the 'premium features' button, you will be taken to the Microsoft Store to make a payment.  After that, Freda will enable the premium features.  It can happen that the premium features are not enabled, or that they are enabled, but it then stop working some time in the future.  That can happen particularly after re-installing Freda.  This is the result of something going wrong with the Microsoft Store - it forgets that you've paid for the 'Freda: premium features' item, or else it fails to tell Freda that you have paid for it.

To get the Microsoft Store working right again, you can try the following things:

• Check that you're logged on to your computer using the same Microsoft ID (email address) as you used when you made the payment.
  
• Check that the PC's time and time-zone are set correctly
  
• Run the Microsoft Store troubleshooter (just type 'troubleshoot store' into the type-to-search box in the start menu)

Freda update 4.35, 27th July 2020: Change Log

• Reworked the CSS code, to handle long chains of selectors better, and to deal with pseudos more correctly (:nth-child variants and :not, in particular).
  
• Fixed a bug affecting the specificity of the lower border style of tables (and other things)
  
• Text-to-speech no longer applies emphasis (the Android TTS engines ignore the SSML emphasis tag, and the Windows TTS engine pronounces emphasis in a way that no-one could like)

• (Windows) Accessibility fix: Images are selectable, and when selected they say their image description alt text (via the speak-selected-text setting, and/or Narrator, and/or read-aloud).
  
• (Windows) Accessibility fix: Image viewer control shows the media description alt text content, if there is any.
  
• (Windows) Accessibility fix: Dialog boxes announce their names when displayed.  The close button, when selected says ‘close popup <dialog name>”.
  
• (Windows) Accessibility fix: Reader page control button says the name of the book, and “reader page controls”.
  
• (Windows) Accessibility fix: Reader page control ribbons buttons and close/minimise/pin/unpin buttons now say something making it clear which ribbon and which function they represent.

Hello 

Thank you for letting me join.  I have used Freda for many years and have really likes it until yesterday when Freda was open in the background and suddenly a small pic popped up near the top left of the foreground which I could not remove.  It interfered with everything on screen.  I tried to include an image for your info bur unfortunately do not know how.

I closed Freda in the hope this image would disappear but it did not so I rebooted my PC and the dratted thing came back without me even opening Freda!  I then shut down the PC and left it off for a few mins.  Switched back on and again the image came back.  I then ran cleaning progs and again shut PC and restarted it but again it came back which brought me here in the hope somebody can help.  

Whilst typing this the image has disappeared but I have had this problem in the past but not so bad.

Please help if you can.

I would like an option to freda's 'list view' to use, look, and act like Windows File Explorer (specifically the 'details' view of File Explorer), for two reasons. Firstly , though the current list view works very nicely and looks good displaying the ebook's cover artwork, freda's list view (for numerous books) takes a long while to scroll through. Secondly (for numerous books) it takes ages to select and then delete ebooks from freda's 'list view'. Without this feature, I have to keep deleting the few books I keep in freda's 'list view' in order to more easily purge a larger accumulation of ebooks later on.

Thank you for the freada ebook reader. It is  lightweight (low program disc space), fast, efficient, great viewing asthetics, and user friendly. Reading with freda, is better for me than Thorium,Adobe Digital Editions, or calibre E-book reader. The freda icon is nicer too. I looks like a green background musical score with the white forte symbol on top.       ƒ

• When an SVG element specifies width and height in %, and it has a viewBox, then interpret the % values relative to the width and height of the viewBox.
  
• Make table rendering more robust – don’t barf if some rows are shorter than others; retry layout in simpler ways if it fails first time.
  
• The settings popup for font should, if ‘advanced rendering’ and ‘book style overrides Freda font selection’ are both set, include a message noting that this font will be overridden by the book’s font (and mentioning the possibility of adjusting ‘book style overrides Freda font selection’).

Hello! Sorry for my English.

First of all, I want to say thanks to the entire development team and those who help to develop Freda! I have been using freda on a tablet with Windows 10 x64 for several years now, I switched from another program where there was a stupid restriction on the maximum font size (max 35pt, not enough for me) and not enough settings. I liked Freda instantly!

I want to report on one problem (№ 1) and offer some ideas. Current version is 4.33 UWP.

1. When reading books in fb2 several times I came across the fact that freda does not display text inside certain tags, for example:

I think I saw a popup that Freda needs to update a day ago, Not sure. 

Now that I missed it, how do I check for latest Freda version in the Windows 10 app?

The update was supposed to add Sentence + - feature to easily read aloud next sentence or previous one.

Liking what I'm seeing in Freda so far

I have installed Freda on a PC (Windows 8.1 from the MS Store) and an Android Phone (running version 8.1.0 from the Play Store)
I have linked the Android phone to OneDrive, but When I tried on the PC, I was interrupted in the process, and failed to etner my credentials.
Under Sources - OneDrive  I now have the message "Sorry, I couldn't download from OneDrive. ..."
I right click on the box this message is in, and on the bottom of the screen the options to "Edit", "Logon" and "Undo"
When I click on Logon, nothing happens? What am I missing?

I have opened the Folders Source, and my OneDrive is also available on my PC under under that so I can add the books I have on my phone from there, but they do not appear to be synching with the places I have read to on my phone. I presume that the updating of where I have read to only works through the OneDrive Source?

I have both reset the application, and removed and re-installed it. To no avail.

After the update for windows freda. The images inside the books are not showing. Is there a way to go back to the previous version?

Today I started up FREDA and there was a popup I haven't seen before. I'm guessing it updated and was a Release Notes type thing. When I grabbed the titlebar to bring it over to my close monitor, the popup went away.

Is there any way to find out what the popup said?
