I am not sure whether these two features are really missing but if they exist, then I could not find a way to enable them.
So here are the two 2 suggestions I have related to highlighting:

1) Add the possibility to have a default action when selecting text.
Example: If I touch the text then I highlight it without any need to ask for action, if I touch the screen where there is no text then it's another action (i.e. turn page)

2) This could be me not knowing how to use the tool properly but I can rarely highlight the sentence precisely at the first attempt.
Usually it takes me 2 to 3 attempts if I am using a mouse/trackpad and 1 or 2 more if I am using a pen.

Would it be possible to make text selection like other applications i.e wordpad, onenote, bookviser, moon+?
Example: The text is selected on the fly while i am moving the pen or the mouse. No need to reposition "cursors" at the beginning or at the end of the sentence.
Also, in the current implementation the mouse picks the cursor at the lower end which normally goes below the line of the sentence I want to select. This usually leads to the wrong amount of text to be selected (one line more or one line less, one extra word or one word less).

Here is a typical scenario in which you see how those two features would make my user experience much better:
I want to highlight text. I am using a mouse in this scenario.

How it is today:
Right click to bring one the cursors (text selection). Left click to pick one cursor. I move it at the end of the text I want to select. I release it and the wrong amount of text is selected.
This happens because when I reposition the cursor, I end up repositioning it too low or to high and only when i release the mouse button I will find out the real amount of text that was selected. An immediate feedback (i.e. showing the text selected while I am moving the mouse) would help being more precise.
At this point I repeat the exercise: pick the cursor, move it and try to drop it at the right spot and then see whether I managed to select the right amount of text.  If not, then repeat the exercise. If yes, then choose the action "Highlight".

How it would be if the two features will be implemented:
I select the action first (highlight) and that remains selected as default action for when I click/touch on text. Left click and move the mouse, all the text I go through is highlighted on the fly and only when I release the button the highlighting is confirmed and does not keep adjusting according to my mouse movement. It would work the same way with a pen: as long as the pen is touching the screen, then the highlighting would adjust dynamically following the movement of the pen. When i raise the pen (so it does not touch the screen anymore) the highlighting is confirmed.

Freda on PC. Find function is nice, but it appears to only Find (the dialog box) indicated text forward, rather than backward as well, from the point in the book at which the function was initiated. Most users are going to want to refresh their memories as to how the text was used previously in the book, thus the need for the backward text references. Also, the Find result box is fine, except there's no reason not to make it a much larger part of the screen. It would also be nice to be able to set the number of characters around the Find text that is displayed, in Settings.

How can I add this sd-card as source to Freda ?

I use Freda when I write so that I can see my writing in "book" form and to use the read-aloud feature. I would leave Freda open if I could and just press a button or click a key to have it reload the current file. This would come in very handy when I edit the underlying book, I could simply recompile it (in Scrivener) and then hit a 'reload' key in Freda to see the changes.

First of all, I **LOVE** Freda. (  ) It is a very nice program. I have tried a zillion different e-readers and keep coming back to Freda, IMO it has the best mix of features and is the easiest to use. I use it to write books with.

The one biggest request that I have is would you PLEEEEEEEEASE consider adding support for Amazon Polly? I know that Freda already has support for the built-in (and incredibly monotonous) windows voices, but Amazon Polly voices are so much nicer. They're technically not free, though they do give away the first year for free, but the cost is so low it's trivial-- and if you use the read-aloud feature, the voices are well worth it.

I've looked over the API and I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too terribly difficult to bolt it on. You'd have to add some variables to store the user's AWS Polly ID and probably some voice setup stuff.

 I would be delighted (and ecstatic) to be your BETA TESTER for this feature!!!

I changed the number of columns to only one and it seems that the width of the table is the same as when there were two columns. Maybe there's a stylesheet somewhere I can edit or something?

I notice that there is a sliding animation when I turn the page by clicking, but there is none when I use the arrow keys (I set next page action for right arrow and page- on left arrow) for turning page. Is there a way to fix it?

I've started using freda yesterday and have just activated the "synch using the internet" option in the Settings. So, I now have a /freda/save and a /freda/sync folder in my OneDrive. Neat.

Within the "save" folder, I have a "books" folder which, I suppose, serves as a book repository to sync books between all devices? 

I have three questions: 

1/ Will freda automatically add books in this folder when I open it on a another device? Or do I need to use the sync/merge button menu?
2/ Are the books I imported in freda before activating the sync option supposed to appear there too, or do I need to reimport them? So far they, do not sync at all. 
3/ Aren't bookmarks/note/page reads supposed to sync between devices for each synced book? I've only tested with one book so far (it's saved in the freda/save/books folder, I right-clicked it to open it with freda), but there is no syncing going on between my two devices. 

That said, I've a really terrible eyesight and would not be surprised if you told me I missed some setting or did something wrong 

Talking about eyesight and accessibility: the background image in the home screen makes it hard for me to see the book covers and read the text. Is there a way to turn it off and/or is there a way to make the covers/text bigger?

I downloaded freda but cannot figure out how to do basic actions such as finding a books contents and going to the chapter/section I want. Why don't the icons on   freda's page let me know their function when I point to them? I am not interested in the seemingly endless changes available when clicking on the three dots at the lower right. Help, please.

Hi, I just bought freda+ yesterday for my Windows 10 laptop.

I have a couple of suggestions:

1)  Tweak the UI so that vertical scrollbars in text boxes don't stomp all over the text in the right side of the box.

2)  Offer some way of doing Feedback or Email Support WITHOUT using Outlook.  I use a web-based email, not Outlook.  Even displaying an email address would help, because then I could send an email manually.
